The Reading Reel Club Loyalty Program & Associated Promotions


The following terms and conditions govern your membership with and participation in the Reading Reel Club Loyalty Program (“RRC”).  Please read them completely and carefully.


 

  1. In consideration of you receiving or using a Reel Club card and/or us receiving and accepting your online activation to become a full member of the RRC, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions which form a contract between you and us.  The terms “we”, “us” or "Reading" as used in these terms and conditions refers to Reading New Zealand Ltd IRDN 70076632 and, except to the extent the context does not permit, its various related bodies corporate.
  2. RRC is a free membership movie club which offers points-based rewards and, from time to time, specials, bonuses and privileges.  To become a member, you must (a) be aged 13 years or over; (b) collect a Reel Club Card “Card” at your closest participating Reading Cinemas location, (c) activate your membership at www.reelclub.co.nz (“Website”), complete the online RRC activation form correctly in full with valid information including an email address not currently associated with another RRC membership, and then submit as directed on the Website. While you may be able to earn points on a Card without completing step (c), you will not be able to redeem any awards until this step has been completed. You only become a member of the RRC once the entire process has been completed. 
  3. Only one card per membership may be used. Multiple cards and points will not, under any circumstance, be combined into one membership.  If a card has been lost, a replacement card will be will be provided at the cinema. A replacement card fee of $1.50 will be payable, points will not be awarded for the replacement card fee. The replacement card will not be tied to your account until you update your profile details on the Website.  Points earned on a replacement card not tied to your current membership will not be added to the current membership, therefore it is important replacement card numbers are applied to current memberships prior to use. 
  4. Only those of our employees and their immediate families that are referred to in the relevant Reading staff policy as being eligible for membership, may become members of the RRC, but are not eligible to participate in any of the Competitions referred to in clause 7. 
  5. RRC membership and benefits are only available at those Reading Cinemas listed on the Website (“Participating Cinemas”). We may vary the number and location of Participating Cinemas at any time and notice of any change will be effective when sent to you via email (or any other method of notification considered appropriate by us) or posted on the Website.
  6. The Card at all times remains our property and must be used by you only for the purposes contemplated by these terms and conditions and in the manner directed by us.
  7. For every dollar spent at the ticket box or candy bar or online of Participating Cinemas on eligible items you will be awarded one point on presentation of your Card at the time of purchase. Points will not be awarded for the purchase of Corporate Cinemoney at any time or for any denomination, nor for third party ticket purchases, Group Bookings, Corporate or Group Cinema Hire or any other use that falls into a third party, corporate or group category. Points for Gift Cards and standard cinemoney vouchers are awarded upon redemption, not upon purchase. For every 50 points accumulated, you will earn an award. Candy Bar Awards are loaded onto the card for redemption at the candy bar (for concession items) upon request of these items and presentation of the card. Ticket Awards ($5/off and Free Ticket) are given as a voucher ("Voucher") to be redeemed at the Box Office for ticket items.  If you are registered to Courtenay, Dunedin, LynnMall, or The Palms - please note that all the awards are loaded to your card, and can be redeemed at the Box Office or Candy Bar upon presentation of the card.
  8. We may also from time to time make available to members special offers, promotions and competitions (collectively, “Competitions”).  Where applicable, Competitions may be entered by you via the Website which requires you to log in to the Website using your email address and password provided to us as part of your membership activation process.
  9. Each loaded award or Voucher and Competition will be subject to any individual terms and conditions printed on the Voucher or noted on our website, in the case of a Competition, specified on the Website.  However, some of our standard terms and conditions to apply to each Voucher and Competition are as follows:

    a.     Awards and prizes must be taken intact as offered and are not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
    b.     If a person otherwise entitled to an award or prize is under the age 18, we reserve the right to instead give the award or prize to that person’s parent or guardian.
    c.     If an award or prize is unavailable for any reason, we reserve the right to substitute an award or prize of equal or greater value.
    d.     Our decision on all matters relating to an award, Voucher or Competition will be final and not subject to challenge or review.
    e.     Awards and Vouchers may not be redeemed in conjunction with any other promotional offers including, but not limited to, promotional discounted ticket offers.
    f.     Neither we nor our officers, agents, employees and related bodies corporate make any representation or warranty as to the quality, suitability or merchantability of any goods or services offered or given as awards or prizes.

 

  1. To the extent of any conflict between clause 9 and individual Voucher or Competition terms and conditions, the latter will prevail.
  2. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable to you or any other person for any claim, cost, expense, loss, damage or liability whatsoever suffered or incurred as a result of or in any way connected with the RRC, Awards, Vouchers, Competitions or the granting or use of any award or prize.
  3. Without limiting clause 11, we will not be liable to you or any other person for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss or damage, loss of profits or anticipated profits, economic loss or loss of business opportunity, irrespective of whether the loss or damage is caused by or relates to breach of contract, statute, tort (including negligence) or otherwise and irrespective of whether you or any other person was previously notified of the possibility of the loss or damage.
  4. We may publish names of winners of Competition prizes on the Website, on www.readingcinemas.co.nz or on a variety of Social Media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest. 
  5. You agree to receive RRC emails regarding session times, movie information and other RRC related information unless you have opted out of said communication. 
  6. Personal information collected by us is maintained in accordance with our privacy policy set out in the “Privacy Section” on www.readingcinemas.co.nz.  You agree that any personal information that you provide to us in connection with the RRC, an Award, Voucher or a Competition may be used by us for marketing/promotional purposes. When your Card is swiped, information such as, without limitation, your frequency of visits, number of tickets you have purchased and films viewed, may be recorded and retained by us as part of your member profile. Personal information will only be disclosed to and retained by us for these purposes.  Contact our Privacy Officer via the “Privacy Section” on www.readingcinemas.co.nz, if you would like details of the personal information we may hold about you.
  7. We may at any time in our sole discretion, without advance notice, alter or amend these terms and conditions or suspend or terminate the RRC.  Any changes to these terms and conditions will take effect when the Website is updated with the new terms and conditions.  Any suspension or termination of the RRC will take effect on the first to occur of notification to you by email (or any other method of notification considered appropriate by us) or posting on the Website. 
  8. We may at any time in our sole discretion terminate your RRC membership with immediate effect if card has not been used in 36 or more months. In other situations RRC membership maybe be terminated with immediate effect by giving notice to you by way of email or any other method of notification considered appropriate by us.
  9. On termination of the RRC or your RRC membership or at any other time requested by us, you must immediately destroy or return to any Participating Cinema (as directed by us) the Card issued to you.
